What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Your information may be used by BabyFacts in the following ways:
- To continue to run, improve and maintain the site
- To send email newsletters, which always contain an unsubscribe option
- For website security purposes
- To reply to queries or direct contact
- To keep track of advertising throughout the site
- To send admin emails such as technical information, security alerts, and update information
Information may be automatically collected by cookies or when you voluntarily submit information to this website (which includes but is not limited to when you comment on a post, sign up for our newsletter, complete a contact form or email us directly). The way in which this information may be automatically collected is described below:
BabyFacts is a WordPress based site and uses security plugins. Any data collected by such plugins (IP addresses, location, browser type, date and time) is anonymous – its sole use is to protect BabyFacts from hacks, malicious content and other security concerns.
Embedded Third-Party Content
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
When you leave a comment on BabyFact’s posts, we collect information you input voluntarily such as your name, email address, and web address (if applicable). Your IP address and user agent string from your browser are also collected to assist us in identifying spam. This data will only be stored in order to connect you with the comment(s) you make. We will not use your email for marketing purposes or publish or sell it elsewhere.
If you sign up to our newsletter, BabyFacts collects information you have inputted such as your name, email address, and the time/date you signed up. This will never be shared publicly. An activation link will be sent to your email address requesting that you confirm your subscription. Confirmed subscribers may receive a newsletter from time to time. You have the option of unsubscribing from this newsletter at any time, either by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in the newsletter or by contacting us directly at email@example.com
Contacting us directly
If you contact us by emailing us, we collect your name and email address. This information will never be used for marketing or published or sold elsewhere. We only store this information in order to know who made contact with us and for us to be able to respond to you.
Other third-party companies may use information that does NOT personally identify you (such as the browser used, the date and time of your visit, and the adverts you click or hover over). This information may be collected during your visit to BabyFacts and other websites so that the adverts you see are personalized to you. A cookie or third party web beacon may be used to collect this information.
BabyFacts participates in affiliate marketing where tracking links are occasionally embedded into the site’s content. Clicking on an affiliate link places a temporary cookie on your browser to track any potential sales that may lead to commissions. The tracking links are provided to us by these third parties in order to monitor referrals to their website. Cookies are used to enable third parties to track sales and subsequently pay a potential commission on these sales.
Google and Google Analytics
Google Analytics is a web analytics tool provided by Google, which collects information such as visitor frequency, pages landed on and other sites used before or after visiting this website. BabyFacts uses this information from Google to make improvements to the site and to analyze website traffic.
Google Analytics does not collect any personally identifiable information; it collects the IP address used for the date, or session, for when you visit BabyFacts. Google does not link your IP with any other data that it holds. Google’s cookies can only be used by Google. A permanent cookie may be placed on your browser by Google so that it can identify you as a unique user when you revisit BabyFacts. You may change your browser settings to alter the acceptance of cookies and should refer to your browser documentation in order to do so.
Using BabyFacts means that you consent to information about you being collected by Google in the way described above. There are tools and browser plugins that can prevent Google from doing so – again, please consult your browser’s official documentation. You may also wish to read Google’s policies concerning Google Analytics.

BabyFacts strives to protect all information but cannot guarantee its complete security.
